Governance

GMI is governed by its 190 member jurisdictions through the Board of Governors, the International Monetary and Financial Committee, and the resident Executive Board.

Board of Governors

Each member jurisdiction appoints one Governor — typically the minister of finance or central-bank head — and an Alternate Governor. The Board of Governors meets annually and holds ultimate decision-making authority.

Executive Board

Twenty-four Executive Directors conduct day-to-day business, including surveillance, lending, and certification policy. The Board operates by consensus and meets several times each week.
