Office of the Managing Director
The Managing Director is appointed by the Executive Board for a renewable five-year term and serves as Chair of the Board and chief of staff. The role is supported by four Deputy Managing Directors with portfolios spanning surveillance, lending, compliance, and capacity development.
Senior management
Department directors lead Research, Monetary and Capital Markets, Fiscal Affairs, Legal, Compliance and Clearance, and the Statistics Department. Together they oversee a multinational staff of more than 2,700 economists, lawyers, and operations professionals.
